Family Bakes And Makes 19th – 25th April

Last week I launched a new linky called #FamilyBakesAndMakes for people to link up their latest kitchen creations. I was really happy to have a collection of mouth watering entries and want to thank all the lovely bloggers who joined in. So now we’re into the second week and there’s a brand new linky at the bottom of this page for you to join in with, but first let’s have a look at all those yummy treats from last week.

Pictured here are all the luscious entries starting off with:

Butternut squash muffins made by Eileen from E T Speaks from Home for a new collaborative project between Jamie Oliver and the Moshi Monsters brand. I always like vegetable based cakes and these look so pretty with the frosting and fresh strawberries on top.

Mini baked cheesecakes with a blueberry compote – these gorgeous bite sized cheesecakes are stunning and as Kerene from The Dream Baker says really easy to make without the worry of the cake sinking in the middle. I have been meaning to try a baked cheesecake for a long time so may be attempting these very soon.

Next was a mouth watering Nutella Soufflé from The Not So Creative Cook and Guest posted on Sarah’s Little Kitchen. The look of this desert with the ice cream melting on top is so tempting I don’t know how anyone could resist.

Savoury Pancetta and Parmesan Scones from Alison at Dragons and Fairy Dust are a great alternative to the traditional sweet variety and are a thrifty way to use up left over ingredients from other recipes such as Spaghetti Bolognase.

Another Nutella recipe now, this time a Nutella Bundt Cake from Laura at Baking In Pyjamas. A beautifully marbled cake with vanilla and nutella flavoured cake batters.

A great gluten free alternative to traditional brownies is next. Flourless Black Bean Brownies – Marta from Petite Raisin made these stunning looking snacks with black beans and cocoa powder instead of flour and melted chocolate.

Kerene from The Dream Baker also linked a second recipe – a stunning Triple Chocolate Swiss Roll. I’m so impressed with the neatness of the roll and the sprinkles on the outside are simple but wonderfully effective.

Finally we have an easy to make Thomas the Tank Engine cake that could easily be changed to make Percy or James the red engine by using Green or Red icing instead of blue.

So get baking, stirring, mixing and making, grab the badge code for your post and join in with the linky at the bottom of the page, I can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to!

Hi, I just purchased 10 of the small Homemade Recipes binder/Personal Recipe Keeper to give to family for Christmas. I was perusing sites actually trying to find more of the original binder that I have – a larger version of above. ISBN # is both 13:978-1-4127-7681-3 and 10:1-4127-7681-3 and see them online for an average of $3K if new. I love this binder and was trying to buy matching ones but at that price it would be impossible. I am new to your brand and hope you can advise about this

Harus loyang bongpas, krn kuenya gak bisa dibalik. Bongpas persegi ada kok. Cuma mmg rada jarang. Loyang bongpas persegi yg aku punya itu alasnya yg bisa diangkat. Jadi agak beda dg yg bulat. Klo bulat kan dindingnya yg bisa dilepas…

Brave and inspiring…? She THREW AN EGG ffs, she didn’t launch a civil right’s march. Then she abuses her own history in order to justify her idiotic behaviour. Oh! And she also manages to throw in the fact that she’d had an abotion despite it having absolutely nothing to do with anything. Attention seeker.

I think this reflects how people are often just waiting for a reason to get offended and perhaps the good in all of his is how the collective anger has brought a group of baby wearing moms together – maybe a better spoof would be advocating the use of Motrin to alleviate watching their commercials.
