Last week was half term for us, sadly filled with more rainy days than sunny ones, but also filled with lots of birthdays, fun and cakes! There were some great entries for Family Bakes and Makes with a great mix of sweet and savoury. My favourite entry is saved for last.
The first entry was a jewel like Fruit and nut tart by Winnie from Something sweet. It looks stunning like all her recipes and is just that little bit different.
Also from Winnie are these No bake cheesecake desserts made with marshmallows, white chocolate and strawberries.
Eileen from ET Speaks From Home has been busy this week. She has reviewed some items for Cakemart (who I’m also a fan of) and the first was a waffle tin used to make these Cinnamon Waffle Dippers.
Eileen also reviewed a nice tart tin and made this lovely looking Blueberry chocolate tart.
Kerene from The Dream Baker has been making bread again, this time filled with a delicious sounding BBQ pork mixture. These Char Siu Buns look lovely with an egg glaze and traditional decoration.
Finally my favourite entry was a lovely Princess castle birthday cake for Eileen’s daughter’s 6th birthday – it sounds like it took a mammoth baking session to make it but the look on her little girl’s face made it all worth while.
